Pontoon

Selling a pontoon privately

What to record when a pontoon changes hands: deck, furniture, fence, engine and the trailer it usually sits on.

Same paperwork, extra wear items

A pontoon uses the same federal licence and the same bill of sale as any other pleasure craft: seller name, address and signature, buyer name and signature, make, model, colour, HIN and licence number.

On the walk-through, pay attention to the deck, the fencing, the furniture and the toons themselves, plus the engine and the trailer. Soft decking and a tired trailer are the items buyers argue about later. Write them down.

Put it on the bill of sale

The free download covers the proof-of-ownership fields. The full kit adds the walk-through and both signatures.
